GS Engineering & Construction (GS E&C) is a leading South Korean construction conglomerate established in 1969. With nearly 55 years of experience in the construction industry, GS E&C has successfully executed numerous large-scale projects worldwide, affirming its pioneering position and exceptional capabilities. Having entered the Vietnamese market in 2004, after 20 years of development, GS E&C has established two subsidiaries and actively involved in several key projects, contributing significantly to the Vietnam’s socio-economic development.
In collaboration with DBPLUS, a reputable design firm providing spatial solutions for modern offices that are balanced and deliver the highest quality experience, a new office space has been launched that is both impressive and meets the needs and development orientation of GS E&C.
A Modern Workspace for a Leading Company
GS E&C and DBPLUS partnered to create a modern, innovative, and inspiring workspace for GS E&C’s employees, with DBPLUS leading the interior design and construction. Located on the 25th floor of The Hallmark building, a Grade-A office tower in Thu Thiem, HCM City, the expansive 1800m2 space provides ample room for GS E&C’s growing team.
Reaching for the Sky: The Design Concept, DBPLUS approached the GS E&C office design project with the core concept of “THE SKY IS THE LIMIT.” This statement embodies GS E&C’s ambition to lead, innovate, and pursue safety and excellence. The office space is designed to stimulate creativity, foster collaboration, and connect team members, creating a dynamic and efficient work environment.
The design evokes a feeling of “Warm welcome, Upper Class, and Prestige” from the moment one enters the space. A distinctive feature of the GS E&C office design is the “Twin Fish” symbol prominently displayed in the main lobby. Incorporating this auspicious Feng Shui element symbolizes prosperity, wealth, and good fortune. DBPLUS creatively stylized the twin fish motif into a unique art piece, with two small fish schools representing GS E&C staff in Vietnam and Singapore working together towards common goals.
Beyond The Office – Design Philosophy of DBPLUS
Inspired by GS E&C’s brand identity, DBPLUS has created a design that embodies the company’s core values and aspirations. With a focus on innovation, safety, and excellence, GS E&C strives to be a “BEST PARTNER & FIRST COMPANY.” DBPLUS translated this vision into a workspace that goes “Beyond the Office,” fostering community, collaboration, and forward-thinking.
DBPLUS redefines the traditional workspace by creating an environment that promotes positive impacts, generates value, and fosters community.
The office is designed with a human-centric approach, where multifunctional spaces combine harmoniously with flexible furniture, meeting all needs from teamwork to individual relaxation. DBPLUS prioritizes flexibility and agility with diverse work areas and open spaces, allowing employees to choose the setting that best suits their needs. The inclusion of multi-purpose rooms and collaborative spaces further enhances productivity and communication.
DBPLUS promotes a collaborative work environment with workspaces arranged according to the activity-based working model, encouraging open communication and teamwork. DBPLUS intentionally arranges the flow of movement and traffic within the space intelligently to enhance convenience for staff and work efficiency, benefiting both customers and employees. Through thoughtfully designed spaces like the welcoming reception area, the private Quiet Zone, the vibrant pantry, and the versatile boardroom, DBPLUS encourages interaction and a sense of belonging among employees and guests.
Technology Integration is also utilized in the design of the GS office, with the installation of smart devices and support tools to bring efficiency to work. Ensuring a healthy working environment for employees according to the biophilic design trend is also considered in the design. Lighting in the office not only protects eyesight but also strongly influences morale and work performance. The harmony between open space and focused workspaces in the office design creates an environment that ensures mental and physical health for each individual working there.
